Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar on Monday said that country's defence is in strong hands and Pak Army has full capability to safeguard every inch of the country, if India tried to impose war. He said this while talking to reporters here at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Monday.
Mukhtar visited the PIC to enquire about the health of Pakistan People's Party Lahore President Haji Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan who was admitted there after heart problem. He said that if India tried to impose war, Pak Army has full right and capability of defence. "We are peace loving people and desirous of good relations with neighbours", he said.
Mukhtar further said that people of Pakistan and India never want war. "If war is imposed, God forbid, it may perhaps led to the use of atomic power," he said. However, he said there will be no war. Referring to the statement of Sonia Gandhi, he said it was nothing except an election stunt.
Answering a question, he said there was no pressure in connection with resignation of Prime Minister and he will continue as premier till the present government is in power. To another question, Mukhtar said all affairs of the government are running in a better way. As far as abrogation of article 58-2-b is concerned, he said it was not an issue.
