US to set up cantonments in Afghanistan: Qazi

The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) head Qazi Hussain Ahmad here on Tuesday said that on long term basis US Engineering Corps was preparing for establishing cantonments in Afghanistan. He said that US had approved 500 million dollars for establishing cantonment in Qandhar area. He said the Americans had given go-ahead signal of establishing three similar cantonments.
He said building up the cantonments was against the independence of Pakistan, Iran and other Central Asian States and they would be in difficulty. He said Pakistan and Iran should protest on the development.
