Steps taken to ensure full security during Ashura

All steps have been taken to ensure complete security to the mourning processions and majalis during Ashura-e-Muharram, said DPO Muhammad Kamran Khan on Friday. He said that adequate strength of police personnel in uniform and plainclothes has been deployed across the city and tehsil headquarters for the purpose.
The district police chief said that the routes of the mourning processions have been purged and cleared of all encroachments to facilitate participants. Meetings have also been held with ulema from all schools of thought to maintain sectarian harmony especially during Ashura, which is a sensitive period. They have assured him of their co-operation in this regard, he said.
