The met office has forecast isolated rain, thunderstorm and snowfall over the hilltops in upper NWFP during next 24 hours. According to the Provincial met office, the weather would remain partly cloudy in most parts of NWFP with chances of rain in Peshawar, Mardan, Charssada, Nowshera, Abbottabad and the adjoining areas.
The current cold spell was caused due to prevailing of continental air over most parts of the country while a westerly winds were likely to affect upper parts of the country during next 24 hours. Meanwhile, rain with thunderstorm was expected in Kashmir and earthquake affected areas, Northern Areas and Northern Balochistan on Saturday. There were chances of snowfall over the mountain peaks.
The foggy conditions over most parts of southern Punjab have abated while misty morning conditions may continue in plains of Punjab during next 24 hours. In Sindh, cold and dry weather with misty morning conditions is expected during next few days.
The minimum temperature was recorded in Kalam where the mercury remained at minus 13 on Friday whereas 4 degree centigrade was recorded in Peshawar while 6.5 in Kohat, 6.3 in Bannu, 4.5 in D.I. Khan, 0 degree in Chitral, 2 in Saidu Sharif, minus three in Taimargara, minus 1 in Abbotabad and minus three in Parachinar.
