Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has called upon Prime Minister to extend the date for submission of corporate tax returns and declarations of tax investments scheme till January 31 2009.
Secretary Bar Javed Iqbal Qazi in his letter to Prime Minsiter said in the big cities load shedding is being observed for 8 to 10 hours and in smaller towns/remote areas the duration is 12 to 16 hours and added, tax practitioners/chartered accountants have not be able to complete preparation of tax return due to Eid holidays.
Secretary bar said they have requested chairman Federal Board of Revenue to extend the date but no action has been taken by him so far. He therefore requested Prime Minister to intervene in the matter and extend the date of submission of tax returns and declaration of tax investment schemes.
