Hundreds of farmers held protest over non-availability of urea fertiliser at Kamalia. They arrived in Thana Chowk and staged a sit-in demo that resulted in traffic blocked for more than one hour on Kamalia-Chichawatni road and Kamalia-Toba road.
The protestors were chanting slogans against the government for failing to supply fertiliser on the government's fixed price of Rs 660 per bag. While addressing the occasion, Rana Sajjad Khan of Chak 735 GB and others stated that fertiliser was being sold by the dealers at more than Rs 850 per bag. Later, they held a talk with the Kamalia Deputy District Officer (Revenue), Shahid Zaman Lak and the representatives of cultivators. Officials assured available for fertiliser at the earliest.
