The recovery of Tax under various heads was reviewed in a special meeting of New Karachi Town held under the chairmanship of Town Nazim Akhtar Hussain and a five-member team formed at every UC level for an increase in the Town's revenue.
TMO Syed Kamal Ahmed, DTOs Recovery, Information and all UC Nazims and Naib Nazims attended the meeting. The meeting decided to improve the performance of recovery teams for a satisfactory enhancement in the Town's revenues and set up teams for the very purpose in every Union Council for which, green colour uniforms have been imported from China.
Town Nazim, Akhtar Hussain said that such uniforms would help improve the working of recovery team members. Further, he said that TMO and DTO recovery would head these teams and would pay surprise visits to UCs to see their performance.
It may be mentioned that Town's revenues mostly depend on various taxes that if recovered regularly, the Town can overcome its financial problems. Hussain also said that this is the only Town where such a step has been taken as no other Town has acted like this.
