World Food Programme (WFP), food aid organisation of the United Nations, in collaboration with Unilever Pakistan Limited commended 10 students of the local school Bay View Academy for their unprecedented efforts in creating awareness and collecting goods for WFP's School Feeding Programme.
The students were handed certificates in a ceremony on Monday honouring them with the title 'Agent against Hunger' by Wolfgang Herbinger, WFP Representative in Pakistan and Unilever, Marketing Director Foods. The 'Feed One More' campaign is initiative tinder the 'Together for Child Vitality' banner which came into existence when the UN-WFP partnered with Unilever in 2007. The partnership is based on the common goal of creating awareness about hunger and malnutrition and raise funds for WFP's school feeding programme.
Today in 30 districts 0f NWFP, Punjab. Sindh, Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, WFP assists 3003 schools with over half a million students getting monthly a take-home ration (edible oil) as well as a daily meal (high energy biscuits).-PR
