Awami National Party (ANP) President Asfandyar Wali Khan on Sunday said that durable and long-lasting peace in the world especially in South Asia can be ensured by following the non-violence philosophy of late Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan alias Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan.
Addressing a gathering of party workers here at Nishtar Hall to observe the death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan here, Asfandyar said that the whole world has accepted today that the politics based on non-violence can ensure peace and happiness in the society.
Pakistan, India and Afghanistan are facing the menace of terrorism, he said and added that the leadership of all three countries should tackle this issue collectively.
The Awami National Party (ANP) leader said peaceful Pakistan and Afghanistan are in the interest of entire region. He said that peace in Afghanistan and India can't be established without peace in Pakistan. He said that Awami National Party (ANP) believed in the politics of non-violence and non-hatred as preached by Bacha Khan.
He said that humanity will badly suffer in case of war between two armed neighbour countries. He said that war between Pakistan and India are against the interest of the region and it will bring disaster for people.
He said that he was ready to talks with militants if they surrender, accept government's writ and laid down arms. He said that war is no solution to problems and issues can be solved through dialogues and table talks.
He said that they will not afraid from those elements who are giving use life threats and was ready to face any kind of situation for sake of people. He said that war is no solution to problem and he was ready to hold talks with those who plotted suicide attack against him in his residence in Charsadda.
Former NWFP ANP President Begum Nasim Wali Khan said that it is high time to identify the enemy as Pakthuns are being killed. He stressed unity among Pakthuns. She urged people and party workers to spread the non-violence message of Bacha Khan.
ANP Provincial President Afrasiab Khan Khattak and Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour besides MNAs, Provincial Ministers, MPA and Awami National Party (ANP) leaders attended the 21st death anniversary of Bacha Khan. Special functions and Dua were held across the province, where people and party activities paid rich tributes to the Pakthun leaders.
