"All eyes are now firmly on the Senate elections."
"I don't think it makes a difference to the general public. All we want is to be able to make ends meet."
"Let me correct it then: all our short-sighted politicians' eyes are on Senate elections."
"Apparently their eyes were there since a while back or so we were told."
"Right but the point is they are even more focused."
"How can you tell?"
"I can tell because recently three federal ministries went to the MQM and two to Maulana Diesel if you will."
"They were long promised."
"Indeed but only delivered now."
"I agree they were offered a long time ago but the delay was attributed to the coalition partners holding out for the ministries of their choice."
"Ah yes. I mean there is no point getting a ministry with no clout."
"Correct but the flagged car and the other perks that tax payers like you and me subsidise for the cabinet are irrespective of the clout of the ministry occupied."
"Don't use the word subsidise!"
"Why ever not? It's the truth."
"It maybe the truth but that's not the way you should think of an ever expanding cabinet that the tax payer can no longer afford given the inflation he is grappling with. IMF doesn't like the word subsidy."
"So how should we view it?"
"Its called politicking to ensure that there is a national consensus on all matters."
"In your dreams."
"Whatever do you mean? The PPP has formed a coalition government all over the place and..."
"As I said in your dreams."
