The apex policy committee of the province, in a meeting at the Governor House, Peshawar on Friday reviewed the over all law and order situation in the NWFP as well as the ongoing operations in District Swat and in certain parts of Fata.
The NWFP Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani, Chief Minister, Amir Haider Khan Hoti, Corps Commander, Peshawar, Lieutenant General Muhammad Masood Aslam, Chief Secretary, Sahibzada Riaz Noor and the Home Secretary, Fiyaz Ahmed Toru attended the meeting. The meeting was briefed about the measures being taken to consolidate the government's writ in the affected areas and the steps being taken to continue the policy of countering the subversive activities effectively.
It also discussed the measures to further boost the security arrangements to protect the life and property of peace loving people and took decisions to improve co-ordination and strengthen the law enforcement agencies and the administrative systems. Other potential areas of trouble also came under discussion including the proposals for counter measures by the government as well.
