A seminar on "Global Financial Meltdown" is being organised by the Karachi Branch Council (KBC) under the aegis of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) here on February 6. Dr Ishrat Husain, Dean and Director, Institute of Business Administration, Karachi will be the chief guest and Hasan A Bilgrami, President of BankIslami Pakistan Limited and President, ICMAP will be the guest of honour.
Mohammad Hanif Ajari, Vice-President, ICMAP and Director, Strategic Development Getz Pharma (Pvt) Limited and Muhammed Sohail, Director Research, Jahangir Siddiqui Global Capital (Pakistan) will be the guest speakers.
At present the world is under "financial tsunami" which is an enormous challenge to the entire world, especially the impoverished nations. Being part of the globe, Pakistan is also facing financial meltdown. The format of global financial system is going down and we will not be able to escape it.
The global financial crisis will strike developing nations soon whereas under developing nations will also suffer the most. Time demands that we should prepare ourselves to face the heat of this challenge. The seminar would focus on issues relating to above scenario.
