Taiwan's Asustek Computer on Wednesday announced a tie-up with the world's leading maker of portable navigation devices, Garmin Ltd, to launch a new smartphone. Asustek's chairman said the new device being launched with the US-based Garmin would be simplifer to use than the smartphones already on the market.
"I always believe technology should make life easier," Jonney Shih told reporters. Details of the product, which will go on sale under the Garmin-Asus name in the first half of this year, will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the two companies said.
