50 megawatts rental power plant: government to allocate 12 mmcfd gas from SSGCL
The government is to allocate 12 mmcfd gas from Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) system for the establishment of a 50 MW rental power plant by M/s Walters Power International (WPI).
Well-informed sources told Business Recorder that Private Power Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has forwarded a proposal to the Petroleum Ministry which intends to establish a 50 MW rental power plant at Naudero, Sindh.
The sources said SSGCL has confirmed that gas for the plant will be supplied from gas available and policy in vogue. Based on the M/s SSGCL''s commitment, the Petroleum Ministry has proposed to the Economic Co-ordination Committee(ECC) of the cabinet that 12 mmcfd gas may be placed at the disposal of PPIB for five years for power generation in accordance with natural gas allocation and management policy 2005.
