The Provincial Minister for Tourism and Culture Sassui Palijo has said that tourism and culture department is establishing a translation cell to introduce the work of saint poets of the Sindh to the world.
In this cell the works of the poets will be translated and research will be done on their work. This she said while addressing a literary conference at the 265 Urs Celebrations a great Sufi Poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai at Bhitshah. The Minister said that the world was facing the problems of terrorism and extremism and the solution of those problems lied in the poetry of the great saint Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai.
She said that Shah Latif was the poet of all ages and he is above the boundaries of the countries and Shah Latif had given the message of love, peace and brotherhood, and all efforts were being made to spread the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. She added the work of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai was being translated into French language and that book would be inaugurated on next Urs. She said that those writers who had written books on Shah's poetry were worthy of praise.
Palijo said that media could play a vital role in accessing common man to the message of the Sufi Poets and to achieve that goal the government had established Bhitshah F.M. 93 Radio Channel and a documentary film would also be made on Shah Bhitai. She said in previous government the culture and tourism department did not play an effective role.
On this occasion 6 books published by the department were inaugurated. Among them the book compiled by Dr Nabi Bux Baloch with 49 hand written scripts and 16-revised edition were also presented. Besides this the selected verses of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in Arabic compiled by Faiz Muhammad Khoso and revised edition of first translated in English book by Dr Armist Tramp was also inaugurated on the occasion.
The Minister said that it was an honour that the government had great people like Agha Saleem who had worked on poets including Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. Addressing to the literary conference in his presidential address the renowned scholar Dr Nabi Bux Baloch said that the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai was a beacon light for them and it was duty of the Scholars to work on Shah Latif and spread his message. He claimed that Shah Jo Raag was the oldest in the world and it still existed. He said the translation of Shah Latif's poetry should be done with utmost care. Chairman Pakistan Academy Adabiat Qamar-uz-Zaman, Dr Ghulam Ali Allana, Agha Saleem, Arbab Naik Muhammad, Habibullah Siddiqui, Dr Tameena Mufti, and other famous literary figures were also present in the conference and read papers on Shah Latif Poetry and life. Secretary Culture and Tourism Shams Jaffrani, and DCO Matiari Baqaullah Unar also attended the conference.
