Pakistan and Nepal signed a bilateral agreement to enhance Tourism Co-operation that would allow both tourism-rich countries to further bolster ties for the promotion of their potentials. Under the agreement, which was signed by Secretary Ministry of Tourism Ali Arif and Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan Bala Bahadur Kunway, both the countries will endeavour to take necessary measures to promote tourism through mutual exchange of tourism information material.
The agreement signing ceremony was also witnessed by Federal Minister for Tourism Maulan Atta ur Rahman, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Azam Khan Swati, Afzal Mahmood Director (NBBS) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan and other senior officials of the ministry of tourism. Describing the move as a positive step towards elevating tourism, Maulana Atta said the agreement would allow Pakistan and Nepal to reap benefits from other's expertise. The minister explained to the Nepalese side country's immense potential lying in its tremendous tourism sector. They were told that Pakistan not just offered adventure tourism, but it also stood unique owing to its cultural diversity, archaeological heritage, vast deserts, serene valleys, violent rivers etc.
The Nepalese ambassador invited Pakistani tourists to visit Nepal, arguing "you (Pakistanis) would feel there quite at home as you would find every Nepali speaking your language." "No region in the world offer what this region (Pakistan and Nepal) offer and people would stop going to Europe provided they realise the beauty lying here." Ali Arif argued.-PR
