Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that the government, as part of its manifesto, is working for strengthening of the industrial sector and ensuring the wellbeing of labour class in the country. He was talking to a delegation of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) led by its President Hassan Bhatti.
The Prime Minister said that Sialkot has always played a key role in boosting the country's economy and efforts would be made to resolve their concerns on priority basis.
The Prime Minister also invited a delegation of Sialkot industrialists and businessmen to Islamabad to be headed by Federal Minister for Population Welfare, Firdous Ashiq Awan, in order to ascertain their concerns and formulate a joint plan of action for solving their problems.
The Prime Minister was informed that currently Sialkot airport, country's first airport to be built by the private sector, is facing shortage of funds and requested for the government's assistance for the early completion of the project. The delegation also requested the Prime Minister to consider starting flights for Haj and Umrah from Sialkot.-PR
