Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Muhammad Pervez Rathore has directed crackdown on large scale against fake witnesses, guarantors and touts. While presiding over a meeting of police officers, CCPO said that fake intones guarantors and touts are a big hurdle in the way of justice.
Dangerous criminals are released on bail through them and become a threat to the life and property of the people by conducting incidents of heinous crime, he added. CCPO said that 56 fake witnesses and touts have been arrested after registration of 43 cases during last few months. The meeting was informed that 240 touts have been identified in district Lahore out of which 52 are active in Cantt. Division, 101 in City Division, 21 in Civil Lines Division, 11 in Iqbal Town Division, 49 in Model Town Division, and 6 in Saddar Division. CCPO said that legal action should be taken against them.
