Female activists of Pakistan Muslim League-N on Friday observed token hunger strike at Chowk Kutchery where about 100 women joined the camp. They were shouting slogans against Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Justice Dogar. Four demonstrations were staged in different parts of the city by PML-N activists and more than 300 activists staged sit-in at BCG chowk as a result traffic remained suspended for two hours causing hardships to the commuters.
PML-N leaders Allah Nawaz Khan Durrani, Rana Noor-ul-Hassan, Shaikh Athar Mumtaz and Shaikh Tariq Rashid, while addressing the demonstrations said, "170 million people have rejected the judgement of PCO judges and decided to join the long march for independent judiciary".
Business activities remained at a stand still in the ancient city of Multan on the third day of protest on Friday as the traders of all the major markets observed complete shutter down strike today. Chairman of Pakistan Traders Alliance Khawaja Muhammad Shafiq, President of Chamber of Small Traders Khalid Mehmood Qureshi and President of PML-N Traders wing Jafar Ali Shah had given the call for observing a complete strike in the city.
Multan is known as the PML-N fortress and business community as the staunch supporter and they once again proved this impression during three days protest. The city's most busy LMQ Road, became the centre of protests. However educational institutions remained open. Food shops remained open. Public transport remained thin during the day on the city roads. The protestors also burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the disqualification of two PML-N leaders.
