Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, Ameer, Jamiat Ulema e Islam called on Chairman Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Raja Zafarul Haq. Maulana Fazlur Rehman conveyed the "reconciliatory" message and various suggestions of President Asif Ali Zardari to PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq for passing these suggestions to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.
Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman was called on the President in the presidency. In the meeting with JUI leader, the president had expressed his concern over the behaviour demonstrated by Sharif brothers in Punjab mass rallies. Zardari has said the attitude of Sharif brothers was a big hurdle in the way of forging conciliation adding that Pakistan Peoples Party was wishful to bring together all political force for the sake of democracy.
The JUI leader along with Awami National Party President Asfandyar Wali Khan is on reconciliatory campaign between PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party who have parted their ways after disqualification of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif by Supreme Court and imposition of Governors rule in Punjab by President Asif Ali Zardari.
