US wheat futures closed higher on Tuesday on spillover support from gains in soya and corn in addition to short-covering after Mondays declines. CBOT March wheat closed 9-3/4 cents per bushel higher at $5.22-3/4 per bushel. Texas HRW wheat rated 63 percent poor to very poor, unchanged from week before - state crop report.
Iraq close to decision on wheat tender - trade Forecasts for rain in US Plains HRW should limit gains. Good chance of rain over next four to five days for dry US Plains HRW wheat areas in central and east Texas and the south and east Oklahoma area. Japan seeks 112,000 tonnes wheat at regular tender. Australia committed wheat exports up 65 percent in January. Bunge buys Russian wheat for Brazil, May delivery. Deliveries on March 290 lots. Registrations with the CBOT late on Monday 7,003 lots, down from 7,019.
