For becoming a successful football coach, it is necessary to open mind for new ideas with a commitment to face the challenges ahead, said Karachi-based PFF Coaching Instructor Muhammad Siddique Sheikh. While addressing the session of PFF D-Certificate Football Coaching Course at Lahores Punjab Stadium on Thursday, he said.
"To be successful as a coach you should always be open to new ideas, so improve your knowledge and level of capability as coach have a big worth in the game of football. Gain self-belief in your particular discipline. Gain an official recognised football qualification after completion of PFF D-certificate."
Siddique, who played for Pakistan in 15th Asian Youth Championship 1973 and coached Pakistan in second AFC U-20 Youth Championship 2003 at Bangladesh, is assisted by Assistant Instructor Muhammad Omer Farooq (Railways) and Co-ordinator Nadeem Sarwar (MTFA). Former FIFA Referee Arif Siddique will teach Laws of the Game. This course is fourth of the five such courses in current year after conclusion of three editions at Karachi, Peshawar and Sibi with the fifth in Islamabad.
