A full bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC), headed by Chief Justice Sayed Zahid Hussain, on Friday adjourned the hearing of three identical petitions against the promulgation of the Governors Rule in Punjab, till March 31.
Khawaja Haris, the counsel for the petitioner Rana Mashood, Nasim Qureshi Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan (DAG), Hanif Khatana Additional Advocate General Punjab, A. K. Dogar, Tariq Aziz Malik (petitioner) and Zahid Malik (petitioner) presented their arguments on Friday.
The DAG said that this matter was also pending before the Supreme Court while Federation could not file its report yet before the LHC about the Governors Rule. He and Khawaja Haris prayed for adjournment. Petitioner Tariq Aziz Advocate argued that two of the respondents of his petition- Speaker Punjab Assembly and Mian Shahbaz Sharif were not served notices for their representation in the court.
He prayed the court to issue admit notices to those respondents, as he had deposited process fee in this regard. The full bench, after hearing the arguments by the parties, adjourned the hearing till March 31. The bench comprises CJ Justice Sayed Zahid Hussain, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Moulvi Anwar-ul-Haq, Justice Nasim Sikandar, Justice Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary and Justice Fazal-e-Miran Chouhan.
