Journalists hold demonstration

Journalists community in Multan including photo journalists on Friday staged a demonstration in front of Multan press club condemning the assassination of two journalists of Dawn and Waqt TV channels and described it an open hooliganism against pressmen.
The President of MPC, Shakil Anjum and other senior journalists led the demo. The protestors demanded immediate arrest of the killers and pressed the government and media organisations to ensure safety and security for reporters in the difficult areas of Pakistan.
Anjum said, We condemn the recent killings of journalists and demand that media organisations should secure the lives of reporters, who are working in the field. While condemning the recent killing of a journalists in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Swat, he urged journalists to ensure their own safety. The MPC President also suggested the reporters to give priority to their safety while covering breaking stories with professional commitment.
