PML-N leader and Opposition leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that restoration of Punjab government to the position of February 24 reflects that judiciary is independent and nobody can challenge people mandate.
Talking to journalists outside the Parliament house on Tuesday, he said that it is up to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) whether it wants to become part of PML-N in Punjab or not as President Asif Ali Zardari in his joint address to the parliament said that his party would sit in opposition in the province.
He said there was no need to invite PPP to join PML-N in the provincial government in Punjab as according to the apex courts ruling the Punjab government had been restored on pre-February 24 position when PPP was a part of the ruling provincial coalition. "Allah Almighty has once again honoured PML-N as after restoration of judiciary Punjab government has also been restored to the February 24 position. PML-N would try to come up to the expectations of people," he added.
He rejected the rumours that the PML-N had asked President and the Prime Minister to remove Governor Punjab, saying that President Asif Ali Zardari is PPP co-chairman and it is up to him to take any decision about it. He said that all the claims and conspiracies of governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer against PML-N has been failed.
"Everybody is aware of Taseers performance that whats he doing in the province and how much he harmed PPP through his policies," he alleged. He said that if President Zardari is satisfied with Taseers performance, PML-N has no objection, let him continue. Talking about Charter of Democracy (CoD), he said that there is no need to form committee for implementation of CoD, saying that the agreement is between PPP and PML-N.
However, he said there is no harm in including to include other political parties in CoD. He also said that Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza has contacted him about forming a committee regarding CoD. Meanwhile, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has said restoration of Shahbaz Sharif government demonstrates that now the judiciary is independent.
Talking to media here on Tuesday, Muslim League-N central leader said no one can enslave the country after freedom of judiciary, "Our next target will be to free the parliament with abrogation of the 17th amendment." "We will now strengthen Pakistan by joining hands with the federal government and will resolve the terrorism issue in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif."
