Chairman PTA (S.Z) Sh M Afzal Hussain protested against illegal and unauthorised act of garments factory no Plot 26, Sector 23, KIA, to get water from Sector 7/A, KIA which is the largest cluster of leather Sector in Pakistan and contributing millions of Rs in various forms of taxes.
He explained that water is the main substance to produce exporting quality leather which is not being supplied by KW&SB and tanners in Sector 7/A, are compelled to get underground boring water which is already gone well below the mark of 250 to 300 ft. He said that the survival of this second largest exporting industry is at stake due to unprecedented move of the unit.
Water actually belongs to KW&SB and prior permission must be sought from water board for laying of water pipe line which they didnt practice and start digging the whole Sector, cut the telephone lines underground cause great suffering to the exporters of Sector 7/A, he added.
He emphasised on the need of an early action of concerned govt department so that industry here may flourish and contribute further in the uplift of grim economy of the country. He feared that any delay would add to the misery of leather industrialist, which are already at the brink of collapse.-PR
