Begum Fouzia Yusaf Raza Gilani will attend an international conference on "Early childhood care and education", being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from April 14-17. The three-day conference on the theme "Developing human capital begins with children" will be inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Besides Begum Gilani, Pakistans delegation include Senator Sughra Imam and MNA Nafeesa Shah. The participants of the conference will share views on issues impacting the quality and delivery of services for children, families and communities. Leading experts from Pakistan, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia will be present with Malaysian experts to share experiences and ideas on early childhood care and education.
So far more than 500 participants from 38 countries with another 210 locals have confirmed their attendance. The objectives of conference are to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, information and expertise in childcare and education, to emphasise the significance of quality child development, to encourage parental and societal involvement in ensuring care and education for children with different needs and abilities.
The participant of the conference are expected to deliver their speeches on different topic including: children as a national asset, policy essential towards early childhood education program, transforming the early school environment, meaningful parental and societal involvement in child care and education and character building of young children. The conference is being organised by the Government of Malaysia, United Nations Childrens Fund and the National Association of Early Childhood Care and Education.
