An informative lecture on Secrets of Students Success was delivered by a renowned psychologist Moiz Hussain to a large number of students and faculty members of DHA Colleges at Defence Authority Colleges Auditorium here Friday. He gave the psychoanalysis of the subject and identified the areas that prevented students success.
Moiz said fear for the unknown paralysed the entire mechanism and caused inaction in life, adding students fear taking exams whereas the entire human life right from cradle to grave was incessantly like giving exam.
He pointed out that the word FEAR stood for False, Evidence, Appearing, and Real. Fear comes when someone is not sure about himself. He said that to counter fear one must had force of conviction and a clearly defined vision in life, adding that feelings, emotions and certainty were the ingredients of a vision.
Moiz stated that nothing was impossible in life and said belief in one self and the ability to value priorities in life ensured success. He explained that there were two kinds of communications ie internal and external. Internal communication comprises images, words and feelings.
Moiz said that to be successful one must value ones own self. He said some times lower self esteem and poor self-image helped in achieving success. He stressed that students must not give up hope if they met with failure, instead they should think that failures were feedbacks and an essential process of growing.
He maintained that students should acquire mind-mapping skills to get real success. A student must imagine him self in a place five years ahead and look forward for achieving success in its real essence. Summing up his lecture, Moiz advised the students that they should be goal-oriented, value education, defeat fear and change their attitude and way of thinking for real success in life.
Later, DHA Director Education Brigadier Iftikhar Arshad Khan (Retd) thanked the guest speaker and hoped that lectures on universal human values greatly benefited students and could change their way of life. The lecture was organised under the aegis of Defence College of Business Education.
