While the residents of New and Old Lalazar Rah-e-aman and Adiala decry the pathetic condition of various roads in their areas, messy situation due to leaking water pipelines in the area remains unchanged. The residents complained that they have been asking the authorities to repair the leaking pipelines, which is not only creating shortage of potable water, but also deteriorating the condition of already damaged roads.
Manzoor Ahmed of Aksari VII said the 200meter portion of Adiala road, which was repaired last year buy the Cantonment authorities after much hue and cry is again in shambles with leaking pipelines along the 502 store and around.
Another resident, Abdul Qayyum wondered why no one is being held responsible for the utter negligence, affecting thousands, who commute through the narrow road. Farukh Butt complained that travelling on the road has become a nightmare due to increased traffic load and the road condition is damaging the vehicles and causing accidents.
Expressing his views about the issue, Irfan Ali said the road is caving in along the 502 park and feared that a major mishap could occur anytime, if the authorities do not take timely remedial steps. However, the residents were hopeful that the restoration of Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif would lead to the approval of the second phase of the road expansion project.
Similarly the residents of New Lalazar and Dhok Juma also demanded repair of broken pipelines and roads. They also appreciated the removal of debris along Adiala road and called upon the Cantonment and Tehsil authorities to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas.
