Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to join hands with Pakistan Customs in checking export bound goods through introducing one-window operation and avoiding unnecessary checking by the force. The assurance was given during a meeting of All Pakistan Commercial Exporters Association (APCEA) delegation with Director ANF, Peshawar Brigadier Pervez Khalid Babar here on Monday.
The APCEA delegation led by its chairman, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi was comprised of former chairman, Jamshid Khan, Dr Khushal Khan Mohmand, Mohammad Nawaz, Mushtaq Ahmed, Khawaja Abdullah, Mumtaz Khan and Faqir Hussein. Talking on the occasion, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi said that the exporters had no objections on checking their goods.
However, at Peshawar dry port, the staffers of the ANF carried 100 percent checking even after the packing of goods after the checking of Pakistan Customs. The operation of ANF officials, he said damaging the packing.
The delegation further told the Director ANF that the export bound goods from Peshawar re-subjected to checking at Karachi that not only once again damages the packing of goods but also create difficulties in the export. Therefore, they urged on the ANF officials to issue certificate to the exporters after completion of checking by the force to save their losses due to checking.
Brigadier Pervez Khalid Babar agreed with the difficulties pinpointed by the delegation of commercial exporters and assured that the force along with Pakistan Customs will ensure one-time checking of the export bound goods. The problems faced by the exporters in this connection, he said would be resolved. The delegation thanked the Director ANF for sympathetic hearing of their problems.
