President Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Sultan Ahmed Chawla has said that the proposed plan of moving clocks ahead by one hour from May 1 will create disturbance in working schedules rather than bringing discipline in official working.
Chawla said present economic conditions demand our attention towards increasing our interaction with our major trading partners around the globe and by moving clocks back by one hour, interaction time from our trading partners from western side will be reduced which will deprive our exporters to maintain liaison with them. He proposed to the government that keeping in view the present need for more interactions with our importers from western side the clock should not be moved by one hour.
He further said that in a country where literacy rate is very low and whose 65 percent population still resides in villages, it will create more problems than saving which are at least dubious. -PR
