Nazim Site Town, Izharuddin Ahmed has condemned sale of contraband drugs and expressed concern over non-co-operative attitude of police. He was chairing a meeting in which the issue of open sale of narcotics was discussed. The meeting was attended by people belonging to various political parties besides Ranger officials.
"We all will have to work collectively to eliminate criminal activities", the Nazim emphasised and said a joint strategy will have to be evolved to save youth from the curse of narcotics. He said that according to reports, the police were showing non-co-operative attitude to control crimes as a result of which law-abiding citizens had to face problems.
He urged the UC Nazims as well as area notables to maintain strict watch on criminal elements so as to rid the Town from their activities. Naib Nazim Syed Badshah Khan disclosed that criminal elements have established their sanctuaries in graveyards while people were being waylaid at Banaras and Abdullah College roads. He said that drug abuse and criminal activities could be controlled through co-operation of the police.
