Pakistan and Finland on Saturday discussed ways to boost economic and trade ties between the two countries besides exploring new avenues for co-operation. Prime Minister of Finland, Matti Vanhanen, who called on President Asif Ali Zardari here on the sidelines of Boao Forum for Asia discussed ways to enhance relations in all spheres.
President Zardari said Pakistan provided vast opportunities for investment and it was high time that the Finnish investors focussed on the vast opportunities available to them.
He invited investors from Finland to invest in energy and infrastructure development projects and said it would lead to closer people-to-people contacts and generate economic activity. The two leaders also discussed the situation in the region, the threat the world was facing at the hands of extremists and terrorists and the need for closer co-operation to thwart efforts to disrupt peace.
