The remarks against Altaf Hussain by a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s member Tuesday sparked protests from Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) lawmakers in the National Assembly as the PML-N legislator joined hands with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)'s MNA urging MQM chief to return home for serving Pakistan rather sitting in London.
The MQM members raised and started shouting at PML-N's Haji Pervaiz Khan when he alleged the MQM's chief Altaf Hussain for speaking against Pakistan while sitting in London. "Altaf Hussain should return to country and stop speaking against Pakistan and the Nizam-e-Adl Regulations (NAR) while sitting in London", the PML-N member remarked adding that criticism against the NAR has become a 'fashion'.
Criticism on the regulations and suggestions should have been come before the passage from the House, he said. The criticism of their leader provoked the MQM's members that rose on their desks and started uproar in the House as the Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi denied the floor further to the PML-N member to speak more on the subject.
However, the intervention by MQM's parliamentary leader Farooq Sattar made the angry members of his party calm. On the point of explanation, MQM's Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi urged the Chair to take notice of what he said the character assassination of his party's chief.
He asked the chair to advise the members to stop articulating against each others adding one's self respect should not be targeted. Earlier, PPP's MNA Jamshid Dasti while speaking on a point of order also urged the MQM's chief to return to serve the people in this critical time rather sitting in London.
