Chairman of Standing Committee on Interior Senator Talha Mehmood has called upon all the political parties to forge unity in their ranks to defend the country in this hour of crisis by setting aside their petty differences. Talking to media persons here on Friday, he regretted that for the last so many decades, the politicians preferred to work for their vested interests instead of serving the nation.
"This is the time we should forge unity by setting aside our differences in the best national interest," he stressed. Talha said that anti-Pakistan elements involved in the incident wanted lawlessness and chaos in nuclear Pakistan to justify foreign intervention.
"It's a conspiracy against Pakistan and its nuclear arsenals," he added. All political parties must shun their differences and unite to thwart evil designs of anti-peace elements in the country, he said, adding those involved in such cowardly and shameful acts were neither Muslims nor human beings. They said the elements involved in inhuman activities wanted total chaos and confusion in the society.
He called upon all segments of the society to exercise patience and unite to foil evil designs of extremist and terrorist elements. He said the enemies of Pakistan wanted to isolate our country, and added that Pakistan's nuclear arsenals were in safe hands. "The propaganda by anti-Pakistan elements that Taliban have established their dominance is ridiculous," he added.
