The President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry Anjum Nisar said that to facilitate the business community of Hyderabad government should arrange frequent flights of PIA from Hyderabad to upcountry and upgrade the Hyderabad Airport for air cargo and better services to commuters.
He was addressing "The Best Business Award Ceremony" organised by Junior Chamber International - Prime Hyderabad as Chief Guest for distribution of awards and to deliver lecture to young entrepreneurs. "Entrepreneurship development is a national imperative to climb-up the economic ladder. Economic history of developed world clearly demonstrates the vital role played by Entrepreneurship in their rapid growth through innovation, productive employment and optimum utilisation of meagre resources," he asserted.
He emphasised on value-addition of Pakistan's indigenous products in general and Sindh in particular. He stressed on value-added export of Sindhri Mango, Shikarpur Pickle, Khairpur Dates, Sindhi Topi and Ajrak, Hala handicraft, Sukkur Chuhara and other traditional indigenous products on the concept of "one village one product". He advised the young entrepreneurs for skill-oriented training and education to start their SME ventures.
He stated that the Entrepreneurship in SMEs entails enhancement of the competitiveness of the economy and generation of additional employment. SMEs were assisting in regional and local development since they accelerate rural industrialisation by linking it with the more organised urban sector. He also urged the Govt to convert Makli, Gorakh Hill Station, Moenjo-daro into tourist attractions on Public and Private Partnership basis.
Founder JCI Pakistan Mansoor Quettawala, JCI Senator Rizwan Ahmed, President Shahab Ali Nawaz, Secretary General Umair Soneja, Sr. Officials Wasif Iqbal and Anwar Kashif Mumtaz also spoke to the ceremony. JCI officials expressed their gratitude to KCCI for supporting them in their ventures. President KCCI also distributed crests, awards and certificates to the officials of various companies qualified for the business awards.
