The Federal Minister for Oversees Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar Sunday assured that grievances of affectees of Kuwait-Iraq war will be addressed within three months. Talking to a private TV channel, he said issue of Kuwait-Iraq war affectees was 20 year old and it was complicated matter.
The Minister said the period of three months would help the ministry to look into the issue carefully and solve it amicably, as otherwise non-deserving people will take benefit of it. He said the ministry was working day and night to solve the issue and presently claims of the affectees are being scrutinised.
"The deserving people will get relief soon after scrutiny of their claims," he added. However, he said some elements wanted to get benefit of the situation. He called for acting against those who are inciting people to go for strike. He announced that the ministry will give compensation of Rs 500,000 to a deceased affectee.
