Real Madrid are all set to face Manchester United as the two European champions meet in the UEFA Super Cup today (Tuesday) in Macedonia.

The Premier League team won the Europa League last season and Jose Mourinho will face his former side, Real Madrid who won both La Liga and Champions League this year, at the Philip II Arena in Skopje.

The sides have already met during pre-season in the International Champions Cup as United beat Real 2-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw, with Mourinho seeing the Super Cup fixture as a good test for his new-look side.

Zidane led Madrid became the first team to win successive Champions League titles - in its current guise - when they beat Juventus in May, taking their haul of European silverware to 12 trophies.

They also won the 2016 Super Cup against Sevilla which sparked a winning run that stretched until January, with Real manager Zinedine Zidane stressing the importance of a winning start on Tuesday.

The Philip II Arena will be the venue for Tuesday's fixture where temperatures been reaching 40 degrees celsius in the day.

Uefa have decided to implement two 'cooling breaks' in which both sides will be able to re-hydrate in the heat. The first will be taken at the 30-minute mark with the second and 75 minutes.

BT Sport and Fox Sports GO will be telecasting the match live. You can also watch live coverage via a live stream on BT Sport Player.

As far as teams are concerned, Real Madrid have already announced the squad for today’s game featuring the return of former Manchester boy Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo, who is set to start the game after to returning from an extended holiday on Saturday, has recently admitted an ongoing tax investigation is making him consider a return to Old Trafford.

Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly who is serving a two-game suspension after his red card in United's Europa League semi-final win over Celta Vigo last season.

Fellow United defender Phil Jones is also serving a European suspension after he was hit with a two-game ban for verbally abusing an anti-doping officer after United's Europa League triumph.
