Implicating a man in false case: Supreme Court suspends personal assistant to DIG (Security) Punjab
A single bench of Supreme Court comprising Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Ramday on Saturday ordered suspension of personal assistant (PA) to DIG (Security), Punjab, who took undue benefit of his post and got a man implicated in fake case.
Justice Ramday was hearing a suo motu case taken by Chief Justice of Pakistan on a letter of a widow, Saeeda Kosar Parveen, published in a national Urdu daily, wherein she had stated that her young son Faisal Aslam was arrested by SHO Race Course in false criminal case and was brutally tortured by police and the police also insulted her.
The apex court asked police high ups to ensure that police should not use official powers to settle personal scores. The apex court directed IGP Punjab to hold inquiry against the police officer in question and intimate the Registrar SC within a month.
Justice Ramday ordered release of the accused Faisal Aslam against a personal surety bond of Re 1 only to be furnished with the deputy registrar of SC at Lahore. On court orders, SSP Operation Lahore Shafiq Ahmad, SP Investigation Civil Lines Dr Haider Ashraf and ASI Investigation Race Course police Nasim Javed appeared before the court of Justice Ramday along with the arrested accused.
