HBL urged to keep husband and wife at one station

Responding to an application moved by two female medical students against the transfer of their father, Irshad-ur-Rehman, Assistant Manager, Habib Bank, from Karachi to Jhelum, Regional Director, Ministry of Human Rights has requested the bank to cancel the transfer order on humanitarian grounds.
Since Irshad-ur-Rehman's wife also works with the same bank, the HR Regional Director in his letter written to the President of Habib Bank has drawn attention to Cabinet Secretariat office memorandum regarding the posting of husband/wife at the same station to facilitate them.
The education of applicants will definitely deteriorate in the absence of their father, he said. Sana Rehman is final year MBBS student at Dow Medical College and Anam Rehman is a second year student at Sindh Medical College. In view of socio-economic problems and hardships faced by husband and wife, the office memorandum was issued by Establishment Division to facilitate posting of husbands and wives at the same station.
