Media, NGOs, philanthropists and businessmen, in fact people from all walks of life, are contributing in their respective capacities to alleviate the miseries of the IDPs. Even telecom companies have started an SMS messaging service whereby with every message sent, a donation is generated for the cause.
On similar lines, donations should also be collected and sent fore the families of the Jawans and officers of the Pakistan Army who have and continue to embrace martyrdom in the line of duty. We cannot give them and their families their lives back, but what we can do is acknowledge that we care. This is the least we owe to them.
