Punjab Finance Minister, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that preparation of Budget for the next fiscal year 2009-10 is going on and it is expected that budget would be presented in the third week of June. Talking to a group of journalists at his office on Wednesday, the Minister said the programme for the welfare of people would be continued in next year and development budget would be rationalised.
Further, he said special attention would be paid for the development of under-developed areas. 'Funds for health, education and law and order would be increased. Due to international economic recession, negative impact has been noted in growth rate, but economy of Punjab is stable. Sphere of tax net is needed to be broaden,' Kaira added.
