On behalf of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan I would like to thank all the companies who are taking part in this years "Best Corporate Report Awards", all the Members of Joint Committee of ICMAP, and ICMAP, and Members of the Evaluation Committee who have made this ceremony event succesfulsuccessful year after year after year. come alive once again.
The idea to present awards on producing best Annual Reports in Pakistan traces its roots to the concept initially developed by is not new in the region. In fact South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) a few years back within the member countries. started this event among member countries some years back. ICMAP and ICMAP being members of SAFA this accounting body later decided to organise anthis event of itson their own for the companies in Pakistan.
Increased in participation in this event every year, shows the popularity and importance that the companies are willing to attach to producing financial reports that addresses to the requirements of the stake holders thereby improving tranparencytransparency and dis-closure. of this event in the Corporate Sector.
Think-tank of ICAP and ICMAP have worked very hard to device a transparent criteria to choose the best among the best, which I guess is the key to the success of this event. True and fair disclsouredisclosure that meets the requirements of the stake holdersstakeholders is the first and perhaps the most important requirement of promoting capital invetsmentinvestment that Pakistan needs today.
I would like to place on record my appreciation of the Evaluation Committee of these awards for their efforts and superabsuperb intellectual input in this affair. A note of gratitude is also due to the participoantsparticipants who have been participating with more and more enthisiamenthusiasm every year helping us to raise the bar even higher. Hopefully, these awards would also assist the economy of the country, which is in transitional phase and needs sizeable investments in fixed capital.
The Governments efforts towards structural reforms and the recent geo-political developments in South Asian Region have once again put Pakistan in a position to attract foreign investments and these awards would serve as a catalyst in augmenting this progress. In the end I wish ICMAP and ICAP a future full of continued success in all professional endeavours.
