The federal government has transferred and posted Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Member Direct Taxes Irfan Nadeem as Additional Director General (ADG) "Economic Crime Wing," Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) with immediate effect. In this regard, the Establishment Division has issued a notification here on Wednesday.
It is learnt that the transfer of Nadeem, a top official of income tax group, has taken place on his own request to the government. The Ministry of Interior has also issued clearance for his appointment as Additional Director General "Economic Crime Wing,", FIA.
When contacted, Member Direct Taxes said that he would leave the charge as soon as the budget exercise would be completed. Presently, Senate Standing Committee on Finance is regularly convening meetings to review the Finance Bill (2009-2010) with the participation of the senior FBR officials including Member DT. Once the Finance Bill is being approved by the Parliament, he would joint the new assignment at the FIA.
