The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that the Zilhaj moon is likely to be sighted on Tuesday August 22, and Eidul Azha will, therefore, be celebrated across Pakistan on Friday, September 1.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is also scheduled to hold a meeting regarding sighting of the moon on Tuesday at PMD camp office, Karachi.
According to a local media report, the federal government has decided to release monthly salaries to its employees in advance before the arrival of Eidul Azha. Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) has directed the concerned authorities to issue the salaries to federal employees till August 28.
The decision has been made to allow families to meet their needs for Eidul Azha.
