A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Peshawar College of Engineering (PEC) with an objective to promote linkages between educational institutes and industry and to prepare the academic text in accordance with the needs of industry and market.
The MoU was signed by SCCI President Sharafat Ali Mubarak and Chief Operating Officer Peshawar College of Engineering (PCE) Bashir Ahmad Khan. SCCI Senior Vice President Inayat Khan, Executive Member Arshad Siddique and Principal PEC M. A. Rizvi were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, SCCI President Sharafat Ali Mubarak said the curriculum that was being taught at academic institutes had no connection with the practical work at industries and was therefore the major cause of lack of awareness about the requirement of industries and markets among the students in the practical field. He said that Sarhad Chamber had also agreements with Peshawar University, Science and Technology Department and Abaseen University that would benefit both students and industries.
