Gastro epidemic spreading in Lahore

With rise in mercury, more and more cases of gastro-enteritis are being reported in different hospitals of the provincial metropolis. Over 1500 gastroenteritis patients, mostly children had so far been admitted in different city hospitals. Doctors had said that use of contaminated water and stale food items were main cause of epidemic in the City.
They advised the people to use boiled water and also follow hygiene principles to avoid the disease. A spokesman of health department said that the government had ensured provision of necessary medicines in city hospitals for the treatment of affectees. However, the people must avoid use of contaminated water.
