Downpour in Lahore

Provincial metropolis received pre-monsoon rain in the early morning of Wednesday and hence broke the spell of intense hot weather, giving much needed respite to the Lahoriites. According to a Pakistan Meteorological Department Lahore, the city received 20 mm of rain, which dramatically brought down the mercury from mid 40s Celsius degrees to mid 30 Celsius degrees.
The maximum temperature recorded was 34 Celsius degrees and minimum temperature was 22 Celsius degrees. Humidity stood at 48 percent. Other parts of the country also received rain, including Multan 12 mm, Sialkot 7 mm, Jhang 7 mm and Pattan 5 mm. Turbat was hottest place in Pakistan where maximum temperature was 47 Celsius degrees.
The met office forecast more thundershowers at scattered places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, DG Khan, Sargodha, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat divisions and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
