President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said that Pakistan attaches high value to its friendship and brotherly relations with UAE and urged for further enhancing the socio-economic and trade ties between the two countries. President was talking to Foreign Minister of UAE, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, who called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday.
The President appreciated the support and assistance of the UAE government for the relief and rehabilitation of the displaced people and contribution to the UN Trust Fund for Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Inquiry Commission.
The UAE Foreign Minister hailed the way Pakistan is fighting the militants and extremists and assured support of his government in the efforts for the relief and rehabilitation of the displaced people. Those who attended the meeting included Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Secretary General to the President M Salman Faruqui, and Advisor to the PM on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain. UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Saif Sultan Al Awani was also present.
