The Balochistan government has decided to award scholarships to hundreds of students of the province under Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Programme for which Rs 76 million have been allocated. According to sources in the Education and Finance Department the scholarship would be awarded to 60 students of secondary and 180 students of higher secondary level on merit basis.
The government would also upgrade 109 primary schools to middle level and 108 middle schools to the level of high schools across the province. These schools would not only cater to the needs of expanding populations in far-flung areas but also enhance the educational ratio throughout the province.
